Make Contact Sheet was founded by software engineers and working commercial photographers to solve a persistent friction in visual production: why does creating a simple, filename-accurate contact sheet or client proof package require expensive monthly subscriptions, slow catalog indexing, or privacy-compromising cloud uploaders?
We believe photographers, art directors, graphic designers, and visual creators deserve lightweight, dedicated studio instruments that respect client confidentiality, execute at the raw hardware speed of modern client devices, and get completely out of the way of the creative process.
The Local-First Privacy Architecture
Unlike conventional SaaS web applications that funnel user photographs into centralized remote cloud storage buckets, Make Contact Sheet is fundamentally engineered as a 100% client-side application.
When you drag a 500-photo commercial shoot or unreleased client portrait session into Make Contact Sheet:
- Zero Network Transfer: Every byte of raw pixel bitmap data, camera filename text, and technical EXIF metadata is decoded and rendered directly within your local browser sandbox using HTML5 Canvas and client-side Web Workers.
- Zero Server Storage: We operate zero backend image processing servers. Your confidential client assets never touch a remote hard drive, third-party AI training pipeline, or cloud database.
- Instant Execution: Because there are no multi-gigabyte upload or download queues, image rendering, grid formatting, and 300 DPI PDF generation happen immediately at hardware speed.
Core Studio Commitments
- Zero Account Gates: Full workspace capabilities, template presets, and high-resolution exports are accessible without mandatory account registration or paywalls.
- Strict Metadata Integrity: Original camera filenames, exposure timestamps, and lens parameters are preserved without arbitrary truncation.
- Zero Telemetry on User Media: We collect zero analytics or telemetry on image contents, file names, or client proof selections.
